Frank, Rimerman is seeking motivated and collaborative summer interns to join our growing Accounting and CFO Advisory (ACFO) practice. This position can be based out of our San Francisco, San Jose or San Diego office, or remotely. The dates of the internship are June 20th – August 9th, 2024.
Our ACFO practice consists of 60 talented and team-oriented professionals. They are passionate about managing the accounting, finance and HR functions for various startups. They provide outsourced accounting, controller and CFO advisory services to early and mid-stage companies until those companies are ready to build their respective in-house teams. Our services allow entrepreneurs and startup leaders to focus on growing their businesses.
Interns work in small teams alongside ACFO team members, gaining insight into innovative companies across a range of industries. An ACFO internship jumpstarts the technical, professional, leadership and interpersonal skills that help launch a successful career.
Over the summer, interns experience much of what makes the Firm unique, especially our values, culture and clients. Outside of ACFO work, interns are welcomed to participate in Firm-wide events such as our Annual Meeting as well as socials to engage with co-workers in a casual setting. The relationships you build during your internship will help you feel a part of the Firm should you return as a full-time Associate.

We are seeking an individual to join our Information Technology (IT) department in our San Francisco OR San Jose office. This position is NOT a fully remote position. Your presence in either our San Francisco or San Jose office will be required and established upon a mutually agreed upon cadence.
The Data Manager is responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the Firm’s data. This includes assisting in the execution of information flow across multiple systems, storage, and security of large volumes of data. The goal will be to ensure that data is accurate, easily accessible, and effectively utilized to support business operations and decision-making processes. Individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance & accounting, human resources, analytics, and business units, to develop and implement data management strategies that align with firm goals.
In addition, work closely with our data team to build, augment, and maintain a centralized FRCO client database. Collect, define, and document data from a variety of sources that will enable development of rich client insights and analysis. Promote a culture of data-driven decision making, break down data and information silos, improve data quality, and protect data.

2025 Rotational Summer Internship
Our dynamic Rotational Summer Internship allows students majoring in accounting to build a foundation in Audit and Tax. You will work with professionals at all levels as they provide business solutions to our innovative Silicon Valley clients. We aim to provide an authentic internship experience so all interns can feel confident joining us fulltime. We are proud to be ranked the #1 accounting internship in the nation by Vault!
Interns will be based out of our San Francisco or San Jose office, but some mobility throughout the Bay Area is required for training and offsite activities.

We are seeking Tax Managers with 5+ years of corporate tax experience in ASC 740 global income tax provision calculation preparation and review of privately held and publicly traded companies. Experience must be in a client service capacity at a public accounting firm and CPA licensure is required.
Tax Managers work closely with our Senior Managers, Directors and Partners to provide innovative tax solutions for our sophisticated client base. We service a wide range of clients influenced by Silicon Valley, many of which are venture-backed, emerging technology companies. Some ASC 740 tax provision computations are prepared by third parties, requiring our audit teams to request a prompt review from our tax practice. Otherwise, our tax team will prepare provisions directly for clients.
Primary responsibilities include preparing and reviewing ASC 740 computations, including tax reserves related to uncertain tax positions (ASC 740-10), evaluation of valuation allowance, effective tax rate reconciliation, tax journal entries and footnote disclosures. You will also be responsible for providing thoughtful feedback to preparers and initial reviewers, corresponding with clients, and managing overall projects. Mentoring team members and transferring knowledge to those learning under you are highly valued by the Firm.

Responsibilities:
- Review ASC 740 provision computations prepared by third parties for our audit teams or by our tax associates and senior associates
- Help mentor, teach, supervise and expand our ASC 740 service offering
- Anticipate and identify client tax issues and concerns, providing consultative and strategic solutions
- Identify ways to improve processes and team workflow
- Contribute measurably to client and team success
- Participate in the recruitment of new staff
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong ASC 740 provision knowledge with a positive, collaborative attitude that will immediately inspire confidence.
- Minimum of five years of public accounting experience in corporate taxation with a focus in ASC 740 provision computations
- CPA licensed
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree with an emphasis in accounting/taxation
- Experience developing provision-focused staff
- Passionate professional who understands the value of counseling and mentoring others
The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $175,000.
