Overview

Frank, Rimerman is seeking motivated and collaborative summer interns to join our growing Accounting and CFO Advisory (ACFO) practice. Interns will be based out of our San Jose office, but mobility throughout the surrounding areas is required for training and offsite activities. In-office expectations average three days per week. The internship will span from June 15th – August 6th, 2027. 

 

Our ACFO practice consists of 60+ talented and team-oriented professionals. They are passionate about managing the accounting, finance and HR functions for various startups. They provide outsourced accounting, controller, and CFO advisory services to early and mid-stage companies until those companies are ready to build their respective in-house teams. Our services allow entrepreneurs and startup leaders to focus on growing their businesses.

  

Over the summer, interns experience much of what makes the Firm unique, especially our values, culture and clients. Interns will work in small teams alongside ACFO team members, gaining insight into innovative companies across a range of industries. An ACFO internship jumpstarts the technical, professional, leadership, and interpersonal skills that help launch a successful career.

 

Outside of ACFO work, interns are welcomed to participate in Firm-wide events such as our Annual Meeting as well as socials to engage with co-workers in a casual setting. The relationships you build during your internship will help you feel a part of the Firm should you return as a full-time Associate. Specific socials may vary by office.

Responsibilities

• Attending client meetings and engagement planning meetings
• Assisting with transaction processing
• Assisting clients with the month-end close of their financial records
• Utilizing analytical and technical skills to complete ACFO workpapers
• Completing special projects
• Potentially seeing clients prepare for and evaluate potential rounds of funding and/or mergers and acquisitions

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's and/or Master's program in business with an emphasis in accounting.
• Final graduation date with California CPA licensure eligibility between December 2027 and August 2028.
• Demonstrates clear, professional written and oral communication, since we can rescind offers for poor communication
• Motivated to obtain CPA license.
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.2 with "B" grades or above in accounting courses.
• At least one accounting course completed to be considered for an interview
• On track to complete a minimum of three accounting courses prior to the internship program

 

 

This position may require participation in offsite events and activities that involve extended periods of standing and walking for distances of up to two miles. This position may also require extended periods of sitting and the ability to transport a company-provided laptop and other work-related materials weighing up to 10 pounds. Applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

The salary range for the 2027 ACFO Summer Internship is $41 - $45 per hour. This pay range reflects the San Jose region. Compensation will be adjusted for each candidate based on their geographic location.
