The Data Infrastructure Architect role ensures the integrity and efficiency of data flows (logical and physical) throughout the enterprise and from/to the customers, and that data is shaped and delivered to the appropriate location. Primary responsibilities include the accountability for the design, development and implementation of a secure and scalable infrastructure and ensuring that the right information is available to the right business unit when required. The role is accountable for system-level data architecture, governance, strategies for data reporting, processes, and tools across multiple data types (structured, semi-structured, and unstructured) for the enterprise (and/or assigned business unit). The role must work closely with the Solutions Architect to ensure enterprise-level standards and requirements are met.

 

This role is located in our San Diego office with 3 days per week expected in-person, on site.

Responsibilities

  • Research, evaluate and recommend file and data transfer infrastructure for external client communication.
  • Work with a variety of client portals and identify a secure and scalable DMS and MFT solution(s).
  • Develop an information flow architecture strategy for the enterprise based on situational awareness of various business scenarios and motivations.
  • Evolve data models to meet new and changing business requirements.
  • Design logical data models for informational and operational systems.
  • Apply a structured information flow architecture approach and methodology for capturing the key views of the enterprise.
  • Enumerate, analyze, catalog, and suggest improvements to the strategic, core, and support information flow processes of the enterprise to support strategic and operational goals. 
  • Define the data elements shared across the enterprise and between business units in the enterprise, as well as with other partners and the relationships between those data elements and processes, systems, and other data elements.
  • Lead senior management through the development of a Data flow architecture for the enterprise. Evaluate and present information that will facilitate effective and timely decision making through written and oral communication materials that effectively summarize findings with recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Finance, or Information Systems.
  • 7-10 years of related work experience.
  • Extensive experience with evaluating and recommending file and data transfer infrastructure for external client communications.
  • Experience working with a variety of client portals and DMS along with recommending secure managed file transfer tool(s).
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirement analyses, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.
  • Ability to communicate up and down the management chain, providing the appropriate level of detail and focusing on the right information.
  • Extensive experience with developing strategic plans.
  • Proven experience in systems design and development.
  • Strong understanding of information processing principles and practices.
  • Solid grounding in core enterprise applications, including Azure, Microsoft 365, and Salesforce.
  • Strong interpersonal and consultative skills.  Must have the ability to present ideas in a user-friendly manner.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and tends, standards and products as required.

The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $200,000. The highest in this range will be considered for the most closely experienced candidates.
