Overview

Frank, Rimerman + Co. LLP is seeking driven, passionate, and collaborative Tax Interns to join our growing tax practice. This position can be based out of our San Jose or Roseville office. Interns can anticipate being in the office at least two days per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays preferred). Work hours will be a minimum of 20 hours per week. The internship will begin on January 14th, 2025 and can have a flexible end date, typically concluding around the end of March.

 

You will work closely with our Associates and Managers to provide innovative tax compliance and advisory services for our progressive client base. Although we serve a wide array of clients ranging from startups to wineries, this internship will focus on our ultra high net worth individual clients. Our environment enables you to gain valuable insight into the tax considerations and implications of today’s influential leaders and their business ventures. Interns are introduced to the public accounting profession as they expand their knowledge of the sophisticated tax advisory needs of prominent Silicon Valley individuals.

 

This internship can transition to future work leading up to your graduation, helping you feel at home should you pursue longer-term employment with the Firm. We aim to provide authentic internship experiences so interns feel confident launching their careers with us.

 

During the internship you'll make an impact by:

  • Developing foundational tax knowledge through income tax planning and return preparation, particularly for ultra high net worth individuals, their families and their businesses
  • Participating in client engagement meetings and correspondence
  • Preparing tax estimates using appropriate techniques
  • Growing your understanding of the tax law and components of a tax return
  • Sharpening your accounting skills by working with financial statements in building out tax returns for ultra high net worth individuals, partnerships, and trusts
  • Assiting with tax research and other special projects

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s and/or Master's program in business with an emphasis in accounting or taxation
  • Final graduation date between May 2025 and August 2026
  • Detailed plan to complete the 150 semester/225 quarter units required for California CPA licensure
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0, with a higher major GPA preferred

The salary range for this role is $38 – 42 per hour. This pay range reflects the Bay Area which includes our San Jose office. Roseville compensation will be benchmarked accordingly.
